fa بررسی تاثیر نوشابه‌های گازدار برخصوصیات سطحی سیم‌های ارتودنسی به روش پروفایلومتری Effect of Carbonated Beverages on the Surface Roughness of Orthodontic Arch Wires via Profilometry Method دندانپزشکی dentistry پژوهشی Original <div style="text-align: justify;">سابقه و هدف: یکی از مشکلات در درمان‌های ارتودنسی ثابت، تغییر در خشونت سطحی سیم‌های ارتودنسی است. وجود ناهمواری‌های سـطحی بـر روی سـیم‌هـای ارتودنسی می‌تواند بر روی خـوردگی، اصـطکاک، حرکـات دندانی، سازگاری نسجی و زیبایی تاثیر بگذارد. این مطالعه به اندازه‌گیری و بررسی تاثیر نوشابه‌های گازدار بر خشونت سطحی سیم‌های نیکل تیتانیوم و استنلس استیل پرداخته است‌. روش کار: تحقیق به صورت تجربی In vitro بر روی 80 عدد سیم انجام گرفت. بسته‌های ۱۰ عددی سیم‌های ارتودنسی نیکل تیتانیوم و استنلس استیل با سطح مقطع دایره با قطر 0/016اینچ و سطح مقطع مستطیل در ابعاد 022/0× 016/0 اینچ از کمپانی American Orthodontics (AO) در قطعات ۱۰ میلی‌متری به صورت تصادفی آماده شدند‌  نمونه‌ها با محلول آلکالینی تمیز شدند و سپس خشونت سطحی سیم‌ها به وسیله دستگاه پروفیلومتر سنجیده شد. همه ‌نمونه‌ها ابتدا در ویال پلاستیکی حاوی ۱۰ میلی‌لیتر نوشابه گازدار (کوکاکولا 2/74 (pH= به مدت 4 دقیقه و سپس در بزاق مصنوعی با 7  pH= قرار گرفتند. این روند به طور روزانه برای مدت۳۰ روز تکرار شد. در نهایت، خشونت سطحی دوباره ارزیابی  شد و با مقدار قبل از مداخله مقایسه شد. در هر گروه تغییرات قبل و بعد توسط آزمون Wilcoxon  اندازه‌گیری شده و به وسیله آنالیز آماری Mann-u-Whitney معنادار بودن اختلاف بین گروه‌ها بررسی شد. یافته‌ها: آنالیز نشان داد که میزان تغییرات زبری سطحی در چهار گروه مذکور به لحاظ آماری معنادار نبود (0/9>P) میزان تفاوت همچنین، در مقایسه متغیر‌های Rₐ, Rq, Rz ، بین گروه‌های استنلس استیل و نیکل تیتانیوم قبل و بعد از قرار دادن سیم‌ها در نوشابه کوکاکولا نشان داد که هر سه متغیر در استنلس استیل بیشتر از ‌ نیکل تیتانیوم است. مثلاً به عنوان نمونه مقدار متغیر‌های Rₐ، RqوRz در سیم‌های استیل و نیکل تیتانیوم  0/016بترتیب 3/55 ± 18/08، 8/84 ± 105/31، 4/54 ± 95/64 در مقابل 0/34 ± 6/19، 3/66 ± 60/78، 1/91 ± 53/74 است (0/9P<). نتیجه‌گیری: به نظر می‌رسد که نوشابه گازدار نمی‌تواند بر خشونت سطحی سیم‌ ارتودنسی تاثیر بگذارد.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;">Background and Aim: One of the problems of the fixed orthodontic treatments is the changes of surface characteristics of the orthodontic wires. Presence of the surface roughness on orthodontic wires can affect the corrosion, friction, dental movement, biocompatibility, and esthetic, which can prolong the treatment and interfere with tooth movement. The present study was carried out to evaluate and measure the influence of the most popular soft drink, Coca Cola, on the surface roughness of nickel titanium and stainless steel wires. Methods: An experimental research was performed in vitro on 80 wires. Orthodontic wire packages of nickel titanium and stainless steel with round (diameter of 0.016 inches) and rectangular (0.016 × 0.022 inches) cross section of American Orthodontic (AO) Company were randomly prepared in 10 millimeter pieces. The samples were cleaned via alkaline solution and then surface roughness of the wires (Rₐ, Rq, Rz) were tested using profilometr machine. This process was repeated daily for 30 days. Eventually, the same surface roughness parameters were re-evaluated and compared with that before the intervention. We used Cronbach's alpha test to evaluate internal consistency of primary data, and in each group before and after changes were measured running Wilcoxon test. Also, to test the meaningfulness of differences between groups, Mann-u-Whitney statistical analysis was used. Results: Statistical analysis showed that the changes on Rₐ, Rq, Rz in all four groups were not significant (P<0.9). Also, Rₐ, Rq, Rz before inserting the wires in Coca Cola revealed that variables in stainless steel group were higher compared with those in Ni-Ti groups. For example, the amount of Rₐ, Rq, Rz of stainless steel and Ni-Ti groups were 18.08  ± 3.55, 105.31 ± 8.84, 95.64 ± 4.54 vs. 6.19 ± 0.34, 60.78 ± 3.66, 53.74 ± 1.91 respectively. These findings were the same after placing the samples in the Coca Cola, too (P<0.9).
