Abstract Background: Fascia lata as a graft can be used in different circumstances. Several techniques have been described to harvest the graft. Those techniques either need special instruments or have been associated with complications. Here we describe a new surgical technique, which is simple, less expensive and with minimal morbidity. Materials and methods: Two small parallel incisions are made in lateral thigh. The distance between these incisions is equal to the graft length. The dissection of fascia from the underneath tissue is made with nylon zero and then it is cut as such as needed. Results: 32 patients with mean age of 30 years were operated to harvest fascial lata. The graft was applied to correct the nasolabial fold due to facial nerve plasty, flexor tendon reconstructions and dura reconstruction. The patients were followed for one year. The functional and aesthetic results were acceptable. Conclusion: The presented technique needs no professional instrument, less surgical time and with least functional and aesthetic complications.
