Abstract:   (1698 Views)
As a result of the previous studies it was obvious that weight alone or even weight relative to height is an inadequate measure of fatness, so fatfolddata including both triceps and subscapular fatfolds for about 3912school girls and boys have been studied during a survey about blood pressure standards and cardiovascular diseases in school children of Tehran. The results show a significant increase in girls skinfold rather than boys and give rise with age in both sexes. The correlation coefficient of skinfold relates directly to age, weight, BMI and systolic and diastolic ( K4, K5) pressures and indirectly to PI in both sexes. The correlation coefficient of triceps fatfold relates indirectly to birth-order and family size and directly to their dwelling rooms.
