In this article weight, height, and circum­ference of chest and head of 251 new-born and neotes who were seen in the Paed,iatric Dept. of Djorjani Hospital, Tehran, and the report of this invesUgwtion is as follow: 
1. Weight-3.98% of new-born were under normal range, and 64.93% were normal, and 31.07% were above normal.
2. Height -9.56% of new-born were be-low, 84.45% were normal and 5.97% above nor­mal in height.
3. Head circumference-9.56% of new-born ihad below average circumference, 84.45% were normal and 5.97% had below average h'ad circumference.
4. Chest circumference-22.7% of new-born had below average head circumference of chest, where as 60.95% were normal and 16.33% below normal.
The average weight of new-born males was 3422 gram and females 3276 gram. The aver­age height of new-born males was 51 Cm. and females 49 Cm., the head circumference of average male was 35 Cm. and females was 34 Cm., and finally the average chest circumfer­ence for males was 33 Cm. and females 32.5 Cm. 
It must be norted that babies born of multiple pregnancies measurement's were of normal or above normaJ! range, in contrast, the twins usually had below normal range of measure­ments. 
In studies which were carried, it was noted certain factor influence the measurements, and these are thought t0. be hereditany, hormonal and external factors auches physical, environ­mental, nutritional and maternal infection dur­ing pregnancy may play a role conceTning growth and development of new-born infants.
