Verrucous carcinoma is a peculiar type of squamous cell carcinoma characterized by a clinicopathological behavior. This neoplasm is grossly cauliflower, warty, or parachute in shape, slowly growing and pushing the adjucent tissue without a definite invasion. Rarely causing metastasis. This tumor is radioresistant and the choice treatment is surgery. Histological features resemble the papilloma and is easily misdiagnosed as a benign lesion. Clinicians and pathologists should be alert and correlate clinicohistological findings in order to make a proper diagnosis. A case of verrucous carcinoma of cervix is being reported and literatures are briefly reviewed.

A 13 years old boy with progressive poikiloderma, bullous lesions in the extremities and photosensitivity is reported. Physical examinations were otherwise normal, his physical development was normal, no other family member had a similar disease. Routin laboratory exams were in the normal limits.Histopathology exams from poikilodermatous skin showed atrophy of the epidermis, liquification degeneration of basal lyer and increase in melanin pigment in that area. Biopsy from bullous lesions showed a subepidermal bulla. Poikiloderma is a rare skin sign and when it occurs early in life usually is a sign of a hereditary and congenital disease. Bullous lesions in the extremities which are probably related to the trauma suggest diagnosis of epidermolysis bullousa. Association of the above two signs under the title of Kindler Syndrome was reported by the T. Kindler un 1954 for the fir st time. As far as we 􀁇w this is the first case of Kindler Syndrome which is reported in Iran.

We reviewed our management of children with uretero pelvic Junction stenosis due to various pathology in a series of 30 Hydronephrotic kidneys in 27children from 1359 till 1365 in pediatric Surgery Ward to Taleghany Medical Center. The common presenting feature is abdominal mass up to one year age and loin or abdominal pain nucturia was the most frequent complain in older children. The conditions was more common in the male than in female and occured more frequently on the left side. It was common bilaterally in infants. The incidence of urinary infection was low and only 1 patient was hypertensive. Dismembered pyeloureteroplasty was the procedure of choice for reconstruction preliminary nephrostomy performed in 4 patients and nephrostomy was done in the late results assessed clinically and 2 patients radiologically have been entirely satisfactory.

Fifty young students, 39 females and 21 males with the Mean ages of 19 - 23 years, were studied to determine if hemoglobin and serum iron differences existed between the two groups and if so whether they were due to dissimilar nutrient intakes. Each subject kept a four day dietary diary and provided a fasting blood sample on the last day of the diary recording. The energy , protein and iron intakes were calculated from the local food composition table. The Mean Rb of women and men were respectively 13.7 ± 1.67 and 14.8±1.32 g/100 and serum iron level were 68.5 and 82.2 mg/100 ml. The Rb and serum iron levels of females were significantly lower than the males. The average energy, protein and iron intakes of women were also showed lower consumption comparing with men. 54 percent of the females had iron intake lower than the RDA (16-18 mg/day). There was a statistical significant positive correlation between the energy and iron intake. Therefore the low iron intake among the young females could be considered as a consequence of a decrease in their daily energy intake.

As a result of the previous studies it was obvious that weight alone or even weight relative to height is an inadequate measure of fatness, so fatfolddata including both triceps and subscapular fatfolds for about 3912school girls and boys have been studied during a survey about blood pressure standards and cardiovascular diseases in school children of Tehran. The results show a significant increase in girls skinfold rather than boys and give rise with age in both sexes. The correlation coefficient of skinfold relates directly to age, weight, BMI and systolic and diastolic ( K4, K5) pressures and indirectly to PI in both sexes. The correlation coefficient of triceps fatfold relates indirectly to birth-order and family size and directly to their dwelling rooms.

Serum concentration of FSH, LH, testosterone, prolactin,ACTH,cortisol, TSH, T ,T and resin Tuptake were measured in 146 men who were exposed to vesicants used by Iraqi regime, few days to 4 weeks prior to test'ing, Clinical and laboratory findings had confirmed that mustards had been used. Mean serum concentrations of FSH, LH, TSH and prolactin were not significantly different from normals. Free Tindex (FTI) was ·subnormal in 6 men, 4 and its mean was somewhat decreased (7 .4 ± 0.8 vs; normal 8. 7 ± 1. 2;P""- 0.05). Free Tindex (FTI) was subnormal in 14 men, and its mean was significantlylower than normal (92±20 vs 130±11; P < 0.001). Serum testosterone concentration was subnormal in 42 men, and its mean was significantly lower than normal (361 ± 254 vs 676 ± 273 ng/dl; P..( 0.001). Serum cortisol, was subnormal in 11 and above normal in 8 men, its mean was not significantly different from normal values. There was an increase in serum ACTH concentration. We conclude that exposure to chemical weapons containing mustards may cause sever alterations in serum concentrations of various hormones.

We describe the clinical and pathologic observation of four patients with Porokeratosis of Mibelli. Allof them were women. They had four different forms of disease: Plaque type, functate form, Linear form and superficial disseminated form. In histologic features we observed a new change in basement membrane of epidermis in two patients. This change composed of Liquefaction degeneration of basal membrane, which this change has not reported in any literature.

The concept of CNS preventive therapy in childhood all is based on the assumption that undetectable CNS leukemia is present in most patients at the time of diagnosis, residing in that "sdnctuary site" protected by the blood-brain barrier from cytotoxic concentrations of most systemically administered antileukemic agents. Studies in the 1960s demonstrated that administration of 2400 rad cranial irradiation and intrathecal me thotrexate following systemic remission induction reduced the incidence of overt CNS leukemia to, approximately 10% or less, which called CNS prophylaxis. There is now a large body of data that indicates that significant long-term side-effects, including impaired in - tellectual and psychomotor function, and neuro-endocrine dysfunction, may occur in patients treated with 2400 rad cranial irradiation. These findings have stimulated a search for alternative methods of CNS preventive therapy. It is now apparent that the risk of developing CNS leukemia varies in different patient depending upon a variety of predictive factors ( high initial WBC count, T-cell disease, thrombocytopenia, profound lymphadenopathy, or hepatosplenomegaly). Studies suggest that 1800 rad is as effective as 2400 rad, without sac - rificing control of CNS leukemia. So, for determination of the dose of irradiation, we must look the age of the patient and the clinical features at presentation. Meanwhile, cranial irradiation and intrathecal methotrexate remain the best established way to prevent this chronic and distressing complication of childhood leukaemia.
