Different mechanisms leading to disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) are briefly discussed and the hemorrhagic diathesis which is brought about by this consumption coagulopathy is visualized.
Since there is an emergency need for correct management of the disorder. The problem is simplified in order, any physician, to be able to understand the syndrome and to be catious in treating the patient.
The treatment of the (DIC) with secondary fibrinolysis is quite different from that of the primary fibrinolysis.
A complete acount is given for differentiation and proper treatment of each of these two disorders.
It mu.st be emphasized that any physician who has responsibility of taking care of such patients has to know the problems of normal and pathologic coagulation thoroughly and in the case of emergency he must consult those who know these problems better than him.
