Considering the incremental trend for incidence of renal failure and the significance of having a successful kidney grafting and for determination of the role of the intra-operative serum therapy in the success rate of the operation, this study was carried out on referrals of Taleghani hospital during the years 1991-1994.
The cohort and analytical strategy of the present study was performed on 100 paired cases of donors and recipients. Control and case groups were selected on the basis of receiving less than 1.5 1 and greater than 4 1 of fluids respectively. The success rate were evaluated by A TN criteria ( clinical symptoms, sonography .and scanning) and rejection cases in the first and second months and the urine volume in the first 3 days after operation were also considered. Ki square , Fischer and t tests were used for statistical analysis.
The results showed that the incidence of ATN were 32% and 4% (P<0.005) in the control and case groups respectively. The success rate (A TN and rejection) was 24% greater in case group (P<0.03) and the urine volume in different days was also greater in case group than control. No complication was observed in donors as a result of serum therapy.
Therefore it is recommended to use serum therapy in large volume in cases of nephrectomy for grafting and it is needed to perform a similar experimental study.
