Abstract:   (1151 Views)
One hundred fifty two patients with Juve nile rheumatoid arthritis were retrospectively studied in an effort to determine the efficacy of synovectomy in thi's disease.
Twenty-five of 117 closely observed patients underwent synovectomy following failure to be controlled by more conservative measures. Analysis of the end-results on the basis of age, sex, stage of disease, and individual joints suggests that synovectomy has a place in the treatment of juvenile rheumatoid disease.
Synovectomy may, in many cases, become the more "conservative" procedure to follow rather than to watch the joint slowly destroy itself while being managed in conservative medical treatment.
