Background: Psychological responses and physical injuries can occur in stressful workplace environments for rescue workers or rescue teams. They included firefighters from various stations in Tehran and the journalists covering the news of the incident in catastrophic Tehran.  They were continuous activity in the aftermath of the terrible firefight in the old and high-rise buildings of  Trad center Plasco. More recently,  the journalists also are taken into consideration for work-related injuries and risk-taking.
The purpose of this study was to compare the incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder( PTSD) and acute respiratory symptoms among firefighters and journalists stationed at the scene of the incident of the fires in the old trade center Plasco.
Material and method: Data collection was performed by setting up two health checklists,  a questionnaire of the health and respiratory symptoms evaluation and Watson's test for PTSD.
Results:102 volunteers have completed the criteria of study;44 firefighters and 58 journalists. 81% of the global volunteers had multiple degrees of the  PTSD by the  Watson's test. Both groups had a moderate degree of PTSD intensity. Only 4% of focus population expressed fatigue.
99% of the participants complained of acute respiratory system symptoms. The most common symptoms were a cough 61%, sputum 47%, and dyspnea  43%, respectively.
Conclusion:  The prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) was remarkable among Iranian firefighters and journalists at the accident of the fire Plasco. The results of the study indicated that the detected PTSD reflects the presence of a disease that is related to the past of the volunteers. ]t has been revealed at the time and place of the accident. It is recommended that should pay attention to the diagnosis and treatment of the members’ rescue teams as the first line of policy with unexpected events. They are targeted individuals who are exposed to serious physical and psychological vulnerabilities.
