The anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system of the extremities is reviewed, with special refe;ence to increasing knowledge from lymphangiography.
The surgical treatment of primary lymphoedema of the extremities by transposition of superficial lymphatics into the deep compartment of the limb employing a buried "Shaved" skin flap "Thompson" operaion was ,used in 2 cases with excellent results.
The treatment of lymphoedematous limb with this method has the advantages of shorter hospitalisation and a more pleasing immediate appearance rith more normal configuration of the extremity.
