368 blood and Carcass randomly sampled from slaughtered animals for detection Toxoplasmosis. The blood samples were examined for existence Infection by serological method (Dye test) and the tissue samples from different parts of carcass including skeletal muscle, diaphragm, heart, liver and lymphnode, which ground in an electric grinder and digested by pepsin.
Bioassay technique and inoculated to mice, after 4 to 6 weeks, and looking for tachizoite from peristoneal fluid and tissue cysts in the brain.
The results of serological studied indicated Sero - Positive rate 1/8 and up, from 141 sheeps ( 41 % ) from 98 goats (28 .5 % ) and from 129 catties (30.5%). In animals with Sero negative antibody, parasite was not found, but in seropositive group in 27 sheeps, 4 goats and 2 cattle isolation of organism was seen.
In this study there is no important correlation between serological and parasitological results, It s.eems sheep represent potential reservoir of human toxoplasmosis than goats and cattle.
