Materials and Methods
In this experimental study, 10 bags of platelet concentrate prepared by PRP (Plasma –rich platelet) method were evaluated. Research variable included mitochondrial
Results
According to the results, ROS (37±16.22), MDA (22.2±11.6) concentration and LDH enzyme activity (3680±310) increased significantly (P<0.001) while PLT count was significantly decreased (P<0.001). The concentration of all the days of platelet.
Conclusion
According to the results of this study, it was observed that oxidative damage occurred in platelet with increasing radical oxygen species and lipid peroxidation which can reduce platelet count and platelet viability during platelet storage. Using anti-oxidant as an additive in platelet concentrate may decrease oxidative damage and increase platelet viability and quality during storage.
