Early Synovectomy is advisable for rheumatoid arthritis. An autologus vaccine from the excised synovia can be prepared from the tis- sues and given to the patient for at least 2 years or even longer in order to arrest the disease and for prevent relapse.
The patient can be taught to give himself his own vaccine two times weekly. While there is possibility of an antianaphylactic reaction. Further studies are being carried out to deter- mine why this has never occurred; whether the patient develops a tolerance is not known, but immunity may ensue from the action of the vaccine as a blocking agent.
